1980
Laurence O’Neill and Philippe de Trogoff,
the 2 founding members of Bam, manufacture the very first cases in the family tannery, in Normandie (France).
They soon become preferred partners of the renowned Selmer company.
1992
Bam’s first production warehouse is built, in Dives-sur-Mer, in Normandy (France). At that time, Bam has a staff of 9 people.
1994
Bam France, the American branch, opens
in Chicago in order to introduce itself to the US market.
1998
Bam registers for a patent for the HIGHTECH technique, which was developed and perfected by Bam.
A second building of 11,000 sq feet is built on the premises in Dives-sur-Mer, bringing the total facility to 22,000 sq feet in France and 5,500 sq feet in the US.
1999
Bam France moves to Hackensack, NJ,
20 minutes away from New York City. The subsidiary is now managed by Carole Boutry, and caters to the North American continent.
2005
The Thai subsidiary opens, managed
by Didier Del Corso and Prisca O’Neill,
Laurence’s sister. This company is intended to
develop entry-line products that will be marketed by the French and American companies, as well as manufacture large series of fabric-covered cases.
2008
In Dives-sur-Mer, the manufacture of the HIGHTECH cases and thermoformed cases rapidly expands and the construction of a new production facility becomes necessary. This new 11,000 sq ft building brings the total of the production site in Normandie (France) to 33,000 sq ft.
Today, Bam employs more than 70 people at
3 different sites, in France, the USA and Thailand. |
